Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey, based on a Stephen King story, blends horror and comedy in a strange mix that won’t please everyone. Following twin brothers haunted by a deadly toy monkey, the film features zany deaths and a surreal father-son subplot. While one standout death scene impresses, much of the film leans into absurdity over scares. Fans of splatter comedies may enjoy it, but traditional horror lovers might prefer Oddity or The First Omen.
