Adam Sandler's most recent offering on Netflix embraces the essence of a heartwarming family collaboration.
The spotlight in "You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah" belongs to Sandler's own teenage daughters, Sunny and Sadie, while Sandler himself takes on the role of their father within the narrative.
Crafted from the pages of Fiona Rosenbloom's captivating young adult novel, the official synopsis unfolds as follows: “Lifelong best friends Stacy (Sunny Sandler) and Lydia (Samantha Lorraine) have long dreamt of epic bat mitzvahs but when popular boy Andy Goldfarb (Dylan Hoffman) and Hebrew school drama come between them, their perfect plans go comically awry.”
The directorial reins are helmed by Sammi Cohen, recognized for her work on "Crush," while Alison Peck masterfully orchestrates the screenplay. The film is a product of the collaborative efforts of Happy Madison and Alloy Entertainment. Notably, the cast ensemble also boasts renowned names such as Idina Menzel, Sarah Sherman, Luis Guzmán, and Jackie Sandler. This venture stands as a testament to Sandler's prolific partnership with Netflix, solidified by a substantial $250 million deal.
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah premieres on Netflix on Aug. 25.
