Warner Bros is set to bring back the beloved mischievous ghost with a sequel to the 1988 classic "Beetlejuice". With Tim Burton directing and Brad Pitt's Plan B producing, the highly anticipated movie sees the return of Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, with Jenna Ortega playing Ryder's daughter. The ensemble cast is rounded out by Justin Theroux, although his character remains shrouded in mystery.
The script for the sequel was written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who co-created "Wednesday", and production is set to begin in the UK. The movie is slated for release on September 6, 2024. The original film grossed an impressive $75 million and played a major role in establishing Keaton's star power. The upcoming sequel will continue the story of a recently deceased couple, played by Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin, who hire Beetlejuice to help them haunt the new inhabitants of their former home.
Theroux has been keeping busy with recent projects such as "White House Plumbers" and "The Mosquito Coast". Fans of the original movie are eagerly anticipating the misadventures that await them in the Netherworld, with Tim Burton back in the director's chair. The return of the beloved and irreverent Beetlejuice is sure to bring a dose of humor and fun to the big screen once again.
