A second season of the emotionally charged drama Adolescence could be on the horizon, with Hollywood star Brad Pitt giving his full endorsement. The show, which took Netflix by surprise with its success, may return for another installment, thanks to ongoing discussions between Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B Entertainment, and director Philip Barantini. According to Deadline, Plan B co-presidents Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are collaborating with Barantini to explore how they can expand the series while staying true to its core and avoiding repetition.

The four-part limited series, which stars Top Boy's Ashley Walters, has captured the hearts of viewers since its debut last month. Adolescence, co-created by Stephen Graham, delves into harrowing, real-world issues, which has helped it rack up 114.5 million views on Netflix. Gardner praised Barantini’s distinctive approach to the show, particularly his use of long, unbroken takes, which she emphasized were not just a stylistic choice but a means to deeply engage viewers with the subject matter.

Kleiner revealed that Brad Pitt was thoroughly impressed with the original script, and his involvement played a crucial role in getting the project off the ground. According to him, Pitt’s energy and enthusiasm were vital in driving the series forward. With conversations underway about broadening the scope for a potential second season, fans are hopeful that Adolescence will continue to explore its intense themes in new and impactful ways.
