"..but you're not Steve Rogers": the new Captain America

Anthony Mackie is adjusting to a new world order. The actor stars as Sam Wilson in Captain America: Brave New World, the Marvel Studiosfilm that is described as a grounded political thriller that hearkens back to the 2014 feature Captain America: The Winter Soldier.



Harrison Ford is making his first appearance in a Marvel movie as General Ross, a character previously portrayed by the late William Hurt in the MCU. General Ross, now the president, intends to recruit Captain America for an official military role. Meanwhile, Wilson appears to be investigating a sinister worldwide scheme. Sharp-eyed fans will notice a quick scene featuring Ford as the Red Hulk facing off against Cap.


A journey began almost ten years ago

Mackie has played Sam Wilson since Winter Soldier, which introduced him as the hero The Falcon, an ally of Chris Evans’ Captain America.

After starring in Captain America: Civil War (2016) and several Avengers movies, Mackie took the lead role in the Disney+ show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which followed Sam's transformation into Captain America.

The upcoming feature, scheduled for a release in February 2025, is directed by Julius Onah, known for his work on The Cloverfield Paradox. The screenplay is penned by Malcom Spellman, the creator of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, along with Dalan Musson, a writer from the same show. Matthew Orton, the writer for Moon Knight, is also contributing to the script by adding new pages for reshoots, introducing a new character portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito.
