Jaafar Jackson stars as the nephew of the late pop icon, with a supporting cast including Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo. The film, written by John Logan, is produced by Graham King, John Branca, and John McClain.

Lionsgate plans to release the comedy Good Fortune on October 17, 2025. The film stars Aziz Ansari, Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Keanu Reeves. Ansari, Anthony Katagas, and Alan Yang are the producers. Good Fortune is about an angel (Reeves) who unintentionally impacts the lives of a gig worker (Ansari) and a venture capitalist (Rogen).

Fuqua discussed the progress of Michael during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con in July, mentioning that he was currently working on editing the film.
