According to The Hollywood Reporter, Deadpool & Wolverine set a new box office record, ranking 12th in domestic box office history, surpassing Barbie.
Over the weekend, Deadpool & Wolverine earned $679,000 as Disney expanded the film to 1,500 theaters nationwide before the theatrical run ended. The Ryan Reynolds–Hugh Jackman hit reached a domestic total of $636.3 million, surpassing Greta Gerwig's meta-comedy earnings.
Barbie outperforms Deadpool 3 in global earnings, grossing $1.446 billion worldwide. The PG-rated film ranks 15th among the highest-grossing movies internationally. Deadpool & Wolverine is now the highest-grossing R-rated film globally, surpassing Star Wars: Episode VIII. Its total worldwide earnings reached $1.336 billion last weekend.
Since its summer release, Deadpool & Wolverine has broken box office records, including the largest opening weekend for an R-rated movie, earning $211 million. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it ranks seventh globally and fifth domestically out of 31 releases.
Deadpool & Wolverine is the second highest-grossing film of 2024, following Inside Out 2 by Pixar and Disney, which has earned $652.9 million domestically and $1.694 billion worldwide.
