It has been a while since we talked about Dune 2, the sequel of the story inspired by Frank Herbert’s book directed by Denis Villeneuve, hasn’t it? Well, we think it is now the time to talk about it a little bit more once again.
Even though we don’t have an official release date yet, we know that Chani will have a key role, as the actress Zendaya herself confirmed not too long ago. Also, we know that Timothèe Chalamet’s character Paul Anderson will go through an important inner journey. As for now, these are the only facts we know about the very much awaited sequel.
However, when asked about it, the director said: “I am in a phase called ‘soft preparation’ which means we are finishing the script. We will start with the storyboards soon. The scenographies of Dune 2 were designed by Patrice Vermette. We are in that beautiful phase of just dreaming, looking at the ceiling and thinking about the film. I love it, because it is the moment when everything is still possible, before the inevitable shock of the clash with reality.”
In short, the director affirmed that he is still taking it easy on the film, trying to approach it without any pressures from the production company nor Hollywood in general. As the audience waiting to watch it, we are happy to hear the film is in its creation phase; but, at the same time, we are craving to know more, aren’t we? Stay tuned to never miss an update!
