Just one frame broke the internet. Earlier today the first official picture of Margot Robbie as the iconic childhood toy Barbie has been released and people have gone wild.
The production of the live-action, directed by Greta Gerwig, has just begun: Robbie, in her bright pink car, with a wide smile, fit quite too perfectly as the plastic icon; alongside her, too-handsome-to-be-true Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, and Will Ferrell.
The movie has been the center of interest by many indie fans, because of the unique direction of Gerwig: the director has made quite a name in the industry indeed thanks to her successful debut Lady Bird in 2017, and later her great revival of Little Women in 2019. Now Gerwig is co-writing with Noah Baumbach, and directing this unusual live-action, which will not for sure disappoint.
The movie will come out on July 21st, 2023 and we are far beyond excited!
