First Trailer for ‘28 Years Later’ Unveiled

Sony Pictures has debuted the highly anticipated first trailer for “28 Years Later”, the next installment in Danny Boyle and Alex Garland’s acclaimed zombie franchise. The eerie clip offers a harrowing glimpse into a world where the Rage Virus has returned, pushing humanity further into chaos nearly three decades after the events of “28 Weeks Later”.

The trailer opens with a chilling montage recounting the initial outbreak, setting the stage for the story’s present-day focus on a secluded island of survivors who have reverted to primitive living. The peace is short-lived, as the infected infiltrate the community, sparking a desperate fight for survival.

Viewers are introduced to franchise newcomers Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes, all-seeing battling the fast-moving infected in visceral, tension-filled sequences. Notably absent is Cillian Murphy, the star of the 2002 original, though social media speculation has ignited theories that he may appear as a key infected figure.

Directed by Boyle and written by Garland, the film promises a brutal expansion of the franchise’s lore. Shot back-to-back with its sequel, “28 Years Later II, The Bone Temple,” the project continues the creative team’s legacy of blending gripping storytelling with haunting visuals.
