“Ghostbusters: Afterlife” release pushed back!

The new Ghostbusters sequel was on schedule for November 11, 2021 but Sony had decided to postpone the movie for a week.

The move is probably a consequence of Paramount's decision of delaying “Top Gun: Maverick” to 2022: in this way, Sony has secured premium large format screens for the blockbuster sequel (in fact, Sony does not own a streaming service of its own).

The new Ghostbusters promise to be filled with nostalgia: it closely follows the steps of Ivan Reitman's 1984 and 1989 movies (“Ghostbusters” and “Ghostbusters II”). Not only “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” will be directed by Ivan Reitman's son, Jason, but it will also include in the cast original stars Bill Murray (as Peter Venkman), Dan Aykroyd (as Raymond "Ray" Stantz), and Ernie Hudson (as Winston Zeddemore) in their roles of the ghost-catching parapsychologists.

The upcoming movie is set 30 years after the original events and centers on a family that moves to a small town where they find out of having connection with the ghost-busting business.

“Ghostbusters: Afterlife” will come and its ghosts will haunt you down from November 2021.
