Golden Globe 2022: a recap!

The 79th Golden Globe Awards were announced Sunday night (January, 9) via social media. For the first time, the ceremony wasn't carried out as usual, as a big, crowded, televised event, but went on online. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association shared on Twitter the winners of the 2022 edition.

Big winner of the night was the movie “The Power of the Dog”, taking home the awards for best drama, best director (Jane Campion) and best supporting actor for Kodi Smit-McPhee. “West Side Story” won for best musical and best actress (Rachel Zegler).

On TV, “Succession” was awarded as best drama series, in addition to Best Performance by an Actor and an Actress in a Television Series for Jeremy Strong and Sarah Snook.

The award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series went to “Pose” star Michaela Jae Rodriguez, who became the first trans woman to win a Golden Globe. The ceremony gave us another first-ever, with South Korean actor O Yeong-su winning as supporting actor for his role in “Squid Game”.

No media in attendance or celebrities walking the red carpet... but this year's Golden Globes were full of incredible wins anyway!
