HBO Max is ready to give us a brand new comedy series.. full of pirates!
“Our Flag Means Death” tells the story of nobleman Stede Bonnet (played by Rhys Darby) who decides to abandon his aristocratic and comfortable life to follow his dream of becoming... yep, a pirate!
Rhys Darby will be joined in the cast by Leslie Jones, Fred Armisen, Kristian Nairn, Nathan Foad, and Oscar winner Taika Waititi. Waititi will be the executive producer of the TV series, while also starring in the role of the notorious pirate Blackbeard.
Darby and Waititi have previously worked together, in the film version of “What We Do in the Shadows” and in the TV series “Flight of the Conchords”.
No official date has been announced yet for the release of “Our Flag Means Death”.
