This year the festival (@helsinkifilmfestival) celebrates its 35th edition.
The opening film is "TRIANGLE OF SADNESS" by Ruben Östlund, which broke out at the Golden Palm of Cannes. Starring Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, and Woody Harrelson the movie is a biting satire on the human condition, skewering the world of high fashion and the global 1 percent. Offensively funny, poignant and topical, at some point the film is able to make viewers seasick as the film's characters encounter the shipwreck.
Previous Östlund’s film “The Square” targeted the art industry and also snatched the 2017 Palme d’Or at the Cannes festival.
This premiere was dedicated to the star of the film charlbi Dean. The actress passed away on August 29.
The actor Zlatko Burić introduced the movie and told the audience about the process of making the "TRIANGLE OF SADNESS". “Enjoy! And remember when you laugh a lot, then it's a serious and a bit sad story”, he said before the movie started.
