David Leitch is in talks to direct “Ocean’s 14” - with Brad Pitt and George Clooney both expected to make a return to the franchise once again. The “John Wick” co-creator and “The Fall Guy” (2024) director is set to direct the film, although it was initially reported by Deadline that the film would be directed by Edward Berger, most known for helming “Conclave” (2024) and Neflix’s “All Quiet on the Western Front” (2022).

According to film critic Jeff Sneider, Leitch is in talks to direct the fourth installment in the mainline “Ocean’s” franchise, making it the first not to be headed by director Steven Soderbergh. While promoting his film “The Boys in the Boat” (2023), Clooney stated in an Uproxx interview that a script for “Ocean’s 14” has been completed. Although he didn’t directly comment on the film's plot, Clooney used Zach Braff’s film “Going In Style” (2017) as a point of reference for a creative direction the project might take.

The possibility of a Leitch-led “Ocean’s 14” would make the movie one of two “Ocean’s” projects currently in development. Although time has passed since anything was heard about an “Ocean’s 11” prequel, it can be speculated that the film is also still in the initial stages of development. However, information that was known about the film is that it was set to be directed by Jay Roach, and the action was to take place in the 1960s. Roach’s most notable projects include the “Austin Powers” series, “Meet the Parents” (2000), and “Bombshell” (2019). It was also reported that Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling were going to star in the movie, re-teaming after the success of “Barbie” (2023), in which they both starred.

What is known for a fact is that admirers and fans of the franchise would be excited to see a comeback and the upcoming release of a film. However, which will we get first? The reunion of George Clooney and Brad Pitt, or that of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling?
