Isabel May in talks to join Neve Campbell in 'Scream 7'

Ghostface has a new target.

Isabel May, known for her roles in Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923, has secured the important role of Neve Campbell’s daughter in Scream 7 and is negotiating to act alongside the iconic Scream Queen.

The seventh chapter of the horror series, produced by Spyglass Entertainment, is undergoing a restructuring phase following the departure of its young stars Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera. Campbell, who skipped the previous chapter due to a salary disagreement, is returning for the new film that will revolve around her character, Sidney Prescott, and her daughter.


Kevin Williamson, creator of the franchise and writer of the original Scream directed by Wes Craven, as well as Scream 2 and Scream 4, will direct. Guy Busick, known for his work on 2022's Scream and Scream VI, is the scriptwriter. Scream 7 is set to be released by Paramount Pictures on Feb. 27, 2026. Producers James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein from Project X Entertainment. Campbell's casting aimed to bring a fresh creative direction to the film. Barrera was removed from the series last year due to social media posts on the Israel-Hamas conflict, while Ortega had left the project earlier. After these departures, original director Christopher Landon announced his decision to step down.

Radio Silence, filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, revived the Scream series with 2022's installment, which they directed. Their Scream VI from last year grossed $166.3 million globally. The original 1996 film Scream was directed by Wes Craven, based on a spec script by Williamson. Since the franchise's start, Sidney, Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), and Dewey Riley (David Arquette) have been central characters.


Aside from her roles in 1883 and 1923, May also appeared in the 2022 romantic comedy I Want You Back and starred in the Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air. She is represented by CAA and Principal Entertainment so it's reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
