James Cameron has thrilled his fans, what is coming soon?

The latest statements from director James Cameron have thrilled his fans. Not only could the Terminator franchise be expanded with a new installment, but the Oscar-winning director also has no intention of giving up directing the upcoming Avatar sequels.

The highly successful franchise that has featured Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role of the iconic cyborg killer is not about to stop. The latest chapter “Terminator: Dark Fate”, was generally well-received by critics but the cinemas were almost empty. But no worries: the next step for the saga will be the anime series Terminator Zero, the filmmaker James Cameron has already raised the bar by promising exciting new developments on the horizon.

Beyond the Netflix series, which is not actually connected to the previous chapters, there's something else brewing. Interviewed by The Hollywood reporter, the author of the new two chapters admitted that he is working on a new movie about the saga. Let’s go in order. Terminator has written a significant chapter in the history of science fiction cinema, establishing itself as a work acclaimed by critics and adored by audiences.

The cult classic has had four sequels (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, and Terminator: Dark Fate), a reboot ‘Terminator Genisys’ and a TV series ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ and the aforementioned ‘Terminator Zero’.

Cameron, in the last few hours, was honored during the closing ceremony of the D23 event, Disney's Expo, where he was officially inducted into the Disney Hall of Fame. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the artist, in addition to celebrating the achievement, also commented on the new anime.

"It seems interesting. My relationship with this project is very similar to what I had with The Sarah Connor Chronicles: other people coming up with stories in a world I set in motion, and those things always interest me. What will they do with it? What piqued their interest? Where are they headed? It seems like they're going back to the root cause of Judgment Day, the nuclear war, and I'm very curious to see what they've come up with."

The Sarah Connor Chronicles debuted in 2008 as a sequel to Terminator 2. Even without Cameron's involvement, the series starring Lena Headey received good reviews.
