Jenna Ortega revealed her desire to take home a particular prop from the set of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The actress, who plays Astrid Deetz, the daughter of Lydia (played by Winona Ryder), shared details during the film's promotion, which will premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and hit theaters on September 5.
The sequel to Beetlejuice comes 36 years after the first film. The plot follows the Deetz family as they return to the house haunted by Beetlejuice, played by Michael Keaton. When Astrid, Lydia's daughter, accidentally opens a portal to the afterlife, chaos ensues. Catherine O'Hara also returns, with new faces like Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux joining the cast.
A collecter of memories
In an interview with BuzzFeed Celeb, Ortega discussed her habit of collecting small props from sets, which began during the filming of Wednesday, also directed by Tim Burton. However, on the set of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, she resisted taking one item: a copy of The Handbook for the Recently Deceased. The book was so meticulously crafted it looked like a real text, complete with graphics, images, and writings.
