This looks like the most stable relationship between a director and an actor. DiCaprio has starred in five of Scorsese’s films (“Gangs of New York”, “The Aviator”, “The Departed”, “Shutter Island”, and “The Wolf of Wall Street”). A sixth project is just around the corner. “Killers of the Flower Moon” is an adaptation of writer David Grann's novel, which will tell about the investigation of mass murders in the Osage Indian tribe. The film is set to release in the spring of 2023.
And right now in tandem they are preparing an adaptation of another book by the same author. “The Wager” is set in the 1740s and focuses on two groups of shipwrecked men. The first boat, which lands on the coast of Brazil, holds 30 torn men who claim they are the surviving crew of a British ship that crashed on a remote island. The second ship arrives on the coast of Chile six months later and in worse condition, holding three sailors who claim the other men are rioters. The naval survival tale builds to a trial by the British Admiralty to learn what really happened between the two ships and the harsh conditions the men struggled to survive in.
The film's release date is unknown. But the fact that this duo's films have been nominated for thirty-one Academy Awards and winning nine gives us no doubts it's gonna be great.
