The director Florian Zeller's sequel of his Oscar-winning drama “The Father” debuts at the Venice Film Festival. This movie has assembled a dream cast: Hugh Jackman, Anthony Hopkins, Laura Dern and Vanessa Kirby. Jackman and Dern play divorced parents whose son is struggling with his mental health. Zeller said that it’s his most personal work and a part of a trilogy of plays that also includes “The Mother”. He wrote the script during the COVID-19 lockdown.
According to the trailer we may guess that Hugh Jackman will be extraordinary in this role of completely lost father. Maybe it's even an Oscar’s nomination?
“The Son” premieres at the Venice Film Festival, and will be released in theaters on November 11.
