The new Warner Bros. horror movie signs the comeback to the genre of James Wan, director of “The Conjuring” saga.
Wan had co-written “Malignant” alongside Akela Cooper (“The Nun 2”). Little is known regarding what the movie is about: the official plot informs that 'Madison (played by Maddie Hasson) is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities'.
What we know for sure is that Wan's project is a love letter to 1980's horror/thriller movies: the director had been inspired by the cinematographic works of Dario Argento and Brian De Palma.
If you are curious to see what haunts Madison's dreams, “Malignant” will be released on US theaters and HBO Max September 2021.
