Disney is bringing “Tangled” to life in a live-action reimagining, with “The Greatest Showman” director Michael Gracey in talks to helm the project. This new film will modernize the classic tale of Rapunzel, the princess with magical golden hair, following the success of Disney's previous live-action adaptations.

The original 2010 animated film grossed over $590 million worldwide, telling the story of Rapunzel's escape from her tower and her adventure with the charming thief, Flynn Rider. While the plot for the live-action version is being kept under wraps, it is expected to closely follow the animated film’s storyline with a fresh take. Jennifer Kaylin Robinson, known for “Do Revenge” and “Thor: Love and Thunder," is writing the script.

Casting has not yet been announced, but the film is expected to be part of Disney’s ongoing effort to reimagine animated classics for a live-action audience. Following the success of “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin," “Tangled” joins a growing list of Disney adaptations, with “Snow White” and “Lilo & Stitch” also in development.
With Gracey’s experience in musical films, fans are excited to see how his vision will bring new life to the world of “Tangled”. Deadline was the first to report on Gracey’s involvement.
