Napoleon's new trailer by Ridley Scott sets a renewed collaboration for an epic-historical movie

Ridley Scott is set to make his return to the historical action epic genre with his upcoming film, Napoleon. The movie brings together Scott and Joaquin Phoenix, who previously collaborated on the award-winning film Gladiator.

Napoleon aims to capture the relentless journey to power of Napoleon Bonaparte, focusing on his addictive and volatile relationship with his true love, Josephine, portrayed by Vanessa Kirby. The film showcases Napoleon's visionary military and political tactics, featuring dynamic and practical battle sequences that are said to be some of the most impressive ever filmed.

The trailer offers glimpses of sweeping battlefield scenes, chronicling the rise of the French military commander and political leader during the French Revolution. The project has unveiled a poster with the captivating tagline, "He came from nothing. He conquered everything."

Alongside Phoenix, the film also stars Ben Miles, Matthew Needham, Tahar Rahim, Youssef Kerkour, Phil Cornwell, and other talented actors.

For decades, Hollywood has been intrigued by the idea of creating a definitive biopic about Napoleon. Stanley Kubrick famously embarked on a Napoleon project in 1969, but financial setbacks arose following the failure of another film titled Waterloo. In 2021, Ridley Scott expressed his fascination with Napoleon, stating, "Napoleon is a man I've always been captivated by.” Let’s see if his attempt of portraying the great french leader will do justice to his figure.

Napoleon is a joint venture between Sony Pictures and Apple Original Films. The film is set to premiere in theaters on November 22 through Sony Pictures and will later be available for streaming on Apple TV+.
