After the premiere of the official trailer in Paris, Oppenheimer is being credited as one of the more anticipated films of the year.
This historical drama movie from Christopher Nolan talks about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the head of the famous Manhattan Project which was the cause of the atomic bomb in World War II. The main protagonist is portrayed by Cillian Murphy, an actor famous for his main role as Thomas Shelby in the tv series Peaky Blinders, that had him gain the award as Best Drama Performance at NTAs in 2020.
Murphy is known to have worked with Nolan in the past, for the role of Robert Michael Fischer in Nolan's famous Inception.
Other cast members for Oppenheimer are great names such as Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt and Matt Damon.
The early screenings for the journalists have generated some reviews, but for now we can only read the impressions on social media. AP film writer Lindsey Bahr stated on Twitter that "Christopher Nolan’s #Oppenheimer is truly a spectacular achievement, in its truthful, concise adaptation, inventive storytelling and nuanced performances from Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon and the many, many others involved —- some just for a scene".
John Horowitz, host of Happy Sad Confused, considers Oppenheimer as "one of if not Nolan’s best work", he states on Twitter.
The release date is set on July 21, 2023 and the expectations are set very high for Nolan's latest movie.
