The 95th Awards nominations were announced on Tuesday , with "Everything Everywhere All at Once," a twisting sci-fi adventure, taking the top spot with 11 nominations. It was closely followed by the World War I epic "All Quiet on the Western Front" and "The Banshees of Inisherin," which received 9 nominations each. All three movies will compete for the best picture award in what is expected to be a far more commercially successful group of honorees than in previous years. Along with "Elvis," a musical biopic that excited the viewers last summer, the two highest-grossing movies of the year, "Avatar: The Way of Water" and "Top Gun: Maverick," are included in the race for best picture.
The semi-autobiographical "The Fabelmans" directed by Steven Spielberg, "Tár," a film about an abusive conductor, "Women Talking," a look at the members of a repressive religious community, and "Triangle of Sadness," a parody of the 1% that partially takes place on a mega-yacht, are among the other contenders.
