“Parthenope” competes for this years Palme D’Or at the annual Cannes Film festival. The film is written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino, famous for films such as “The Hand of god” and “Youth”. “Parthenope” stars legendary actor Gary Oldman alongside Stefania Sandrelli and Luisa Ranieri.
Little is known about the plot of the movie but the director has previously said that the film centers around a woman named “Parthenope”, who “bears the name of her city but is neither siren nor myth”.
The film was shot in the Italian city of Naples and the Island Capri in 2023.
