Stranger Things Star Sadie Sink Enters the Marvel Universe with Tom Holland's Spider-man

Sadie Sink is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the Stranger Things star officially cast in Spider-Man 4. She will share the screen with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, though her role in the film is still shrouded in mystery, Variety says. According to Deadline, which first reported the casting news, Sink’s role will be “significant,” but it’s unclear which character she will portray. Speculation has arisen that she could play the iconic X-Men mutant, Jean Grey, a character previously portrayed by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner.

While Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, who are behind the Spider-Man films in the MCU, have yet to comment on the casting or reveal plot details, fans are eagerly awaiting what’s next for the web-slinging hero. Spider-Man: No Way Homesaw Peter Parker (Tom Holland) accidentally breaking open the multiverse, bringing past Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, into the fold. The film ended with Holland’s Peter Parker erasing his identity from the world, leaving his loved ones, MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon), to forget he exists. “No Way Home” grossed an impressive $1.9 billion globally, ensuring the latest developments in Spidey lore are well-known among fans.

Directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’s Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man 4 is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. Sink, 22, is no stranger to major roles, having risen to fame with Stranger Things, which recently completed production on its fifth and final season. She also appeared in Taylor Swift’s music video for All Too Well: The Short Film, alongside Dylan O’Brien. As she prepares for her next projects, Sink will star in the upcoming musical O'Dessa, which premiered at SXSW, and make her Broadway debut in John Proctor Is the Villain this April.
