The star of “American horror story” Sarah Paulson is no stranger to playing real people. She won an Emmy award for her role of Marcia Clark in “The People v. O. J. Simpson” and was recently nominated for an Emmy for “Impeachment: American Crime Story” for playing Linda Tripp. And now there’s a new challenge coming. Paulson is going to star and executive produce the adaptation of “The Way Down: God, Greed, and the Cult of Gwen Shamblin,” which HBO Max is developing from its own five-part docuseries.
Shamblin, who died in 2021, ran a diet program called “Weigh Down Workshop”. She became very popular. But she was eventually accused of physical, emotional, and psychological abuse by followers.
No release date or additional information about the cast has been released yet. But one thing for sure, Sarah Paulson will definitely surprise the audience with her new impersonation.
