In the Agnes Varda room theatre, it was a step back in the 50s: Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen's masterpiece Singing in the rain was shown to the audience fresh from a new restoration and ready to steal the new generations' hearts.
Protagonist of the section Cannes Classics, the 70 years old musical starring Gene Kelly, and the wonderful Debbie Reynolds have conquered everyone, from the youth to the big nostalgics.
It reminded the great artistic power of the classics, which maybe could be a prompt for the new filmmaker all over the world that a step back to the origins could lead to a production that has the potential to be as iconic as this movie has been for the past 70 years.
Anyways the audience has for sure enjoyed the good old Gene Kelly dancing with an umbrella under the rain!
