Squid Game: season two teaser trailer reveals new cast members

Since its release in 2021, Squid Game has been recognized as the most streamed tv series on Netflix, becoming a global phenomenon, also winning many Emmys in 2022. Fans have then started to demand news about a second season of the tv series.

The south-korean series is releasing the second season most likely in 2024, meanwhile some glimpses of it can be spotted in the new teaser trailer published on TUDUM, Netflix’ platform: along with some scenes taken from the first season of the show.

The trailer shows some of the survived cast members, such as Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo.

There are some new members as well, such as stars Im Siwan (former of K-pop group ZE:A), Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon and Yang Dong Geun; their characters are to be revealed yet. These new names unfortunately lack some female presence, fact widely noticed and discussed by fans on social media.

The shooting of season two would begin this summer 2023, but fans will have to wait longer for its release. Meanwhile, a show spinoff is expected to come out, Squid Game: The Challenge. Netflix revealed in Brazil that it will be premiered in November 2023 (THR).
