The new film by Luis Ortega, an Argentine director and screenwriter, lands in Venice, filled with humor, whisky, horses, music, and dreams.
A quirky, 90-minute film that transports you to a surreal world with an unpredictable, amusing, and exciting plot, as it takes us through the complex sense of life and, particularly, identity.
What is it about?
The protagonist, Remo (played by Argentine actor Nahuel Pérez Biscayart), is a perpetually suffering jockey, and thanks to Abril (Úrsula Corberó, known for La Casa De Papel), another rising star in the world of horse racing, he embarks on this mystical journey—a deep search for himself, exploring his identity.
With detailed and very pleasing cinematography, a fitting and never trivial soundtrack that accompanies "fiery" scenes (as described by the lead actress during the press conference), and a cast of actors dedicated to the director's vision, this film is a dive into the interiority of each of us; it might answer some questions or perhaps raise even more doubts.
Creativity and passion: a perfect-movie-mix
During the conference, Úrsula Corberó spoke about how challenging it is not to have everything under control and not to know your character in detail. It's about trusting and letting go, trying to bring yourself to the set and not a fictional version. Being real, without a mask and perhaps with a bit of fear, but with a strong desire to perform. Nahuel confirms this and shares how he already trusted the director, as they had been friends for a long time. They complete each other, they understand each other, and few words are needed to create their art. Mariana di Girolamo, a Chilean actress also present at the conference, reiterated how fun and stimulating it can be to work in such an environment with artists you admire, where creativity and passion take center stage.
