Paramount announced on Wednesday that Roofman, featuring Channing Tatum, will be released in theaters on October 3, 2025. Kirsten Dunst and Peter Dinklage are also part of the cast.
The true-crime film is helmed by Derek Cianfrance (Civil War), who is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Kirk Gunn. Inspired by actual events, the movie stars Tatum as a former Army Ranger and struggling father who adopts the moniker “Roofman” as he resorts to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by creating openings in their ceilings.
Following his escape from prison, he forges a new identity while taking refuge in a toy store, where he develops a deep connection with a single mother and her two daughters. However, his criminal past and one final heist jeopardize his shot at redemption.
Miramax purchased the rights to the movie for specific regions, such as the United States.
Within the framework of the initial agreement between Miramax and Paramount Pictures, Paramount Pictures will handle distribution in those regions. The producers involved are Lynette Howell Taylor, Jamie Patricof, and Duncan Montgomery.
