As all Mission Impossible fans know, the brilliant actor, Tom Cruise, does his own stunts. However, Pom Klementieff recently revealed one stunt that Cruise refused to do on set of the upcoming film “Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One”.
The movie is set to premiere on July 12, 2023. Tom Cruise will once again play the beloved character Ethan Hunt. Joining him will be co-stars including Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Esai Morales, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames.
This upcoming film features some of Tom Cruise’s most death-defying stunt work up till now, such as jumping off of a cliff on a motorcycle and hanging off of moving trains. However, actress Klementieff has revealed one stunt that Cruise refused to do.
The scene that Tom Cruise did not do was one where he was supposed to kick his co-star Pom Klementieff in the stomach during a fight scene in Venice. This is what the actress said about it: “I kept telling him to just kick me here. I was squeezing abs. [I said], ‘You can just go for it.’ He was like ‘No, no, no, no, no’. I was like, ‘But it’s going to help me!’ But he wouldn’t do it.”
Tom Cruise surely does not mind putting himself at risk in the multiple dangerous stunt scenes that he does, however, when it comes to putting others at risk for an injury, that’s when he draws the line.
