Marvel has yet to make any official announcements on this matter, leaving us in a state of anticipation to observe whether these selections solidify or join the ever-growing stack of reports that ultimately do not materialize. Anyway, recent developments suggest that we may be inching closer to official selections, as a notably credible podcast, The Hot Mic, along with co-host Jeff Sneider's Above The Line site, have put forward Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn from Stranger Things as the leading contenders for the roles of Sue and Johnny Storm.
It's important to highlight that this information is just a rumor, whilst we have confirmation on the involvement of Matt Shakman, known for his work on WandaVision, as the director, and Josh Friedman as the current scriptwriter for the project. However, the production's progress has temporarily stalled due to ongoing strikes.
Notably, Kirby is presently gracing screens in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, and she is also set to appear in Ridley Scott's upcoming project Napoleon, further details of which can be explored here. In parallel, Quinn boasts a connection to Scott, as he is part of the cast for the director's sequel to Gladiator, a project that currently finds itself on hiatus due to labor disputes.
The scheduled release date for The Fantastic Four is marked for May 2, 2025, though it remains to be seen whether this timeline holds firm.
