The trailer for Dune: Part Two has finally been released. The movie is set to hit theaters on November 3, 2023. The Warner Bros film is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who also directed the first part of Dune.
The first trailer for Dune: Part Two shows many of the characters from the first part but also plenty of new faces. Actors that are confirmed to return for the second part include: Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica Atreides, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban and Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen.
New faces that will appear in the second part of Dune are for instance, the famous Oscar nominees: Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corrino and Austin Butler as Feyd – Rautha Harkonnen. Another actor that will join the cast is the Oscar-winner Christopher Walken who will play the character Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV.
Details of the plot have not been released. However, we can expect the film to be extraordinary, hence to what Villeneuve said about Part Two in 2021: “(…) I should not say that, but I will say that, for me, Dune Part I is like an appetizer and Dune Part II is the main meal. …. As much as Dune Part I was by far my most exciting project ever, Dune Part II is already getting me more, even more excited. That’s all I will say.”
Both of the Dune films cover the material in the first book of the Frank Herbert Dune novels; hence, we can expect the plot to be based on the second half of the first Dune novel. Nevertheless, with the star-studded cast and Denis Villeneuve as director, this movie will surely be a success.
