Why producers decided to cast Aaron Taylor-Johnson for upcoming MCU film “Kraven the Hunter”

The Spider-Man villain Kraven (original name Sergei Kravinoff), was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Sony Pictures are now making a movie about the character, and a trailer for the film has finally been released.

The villain was a founding member of “the Sinister Six”. He was teased in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 back in 2014.

In the Marvel Comics, Kraven is a Russian nobleman, whose family immigrated to America in 1917. The villain Kraven became an obsessive big game hunter who eventually wants to take on Spider-Man.

Richard Wenk is the screenplay writer for “Kraven the Hunter”, which was confirmed back in 2018. Sony pictures confirmed that the movie production had started back in March 2019.

The film is set to premiere on October 6, 2023. “Kraven the Hunter” will be able to stream on Netflix after its theatrical release.

For the main character, Kraven, Sony wanted to cast Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, John David Washington and Adam Driver. The producers however, decided to cast Aaron Taylor-Johnson for the part, after seeing the first trailer for the movie “Bullet train”.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has already starred in a MCU film before. Then he played the character Pietro Maximoff in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”.

Details of the plot have not yet been released, however, it will most likely surround Kraven facing off against villains “the Rhino” and “the Foreigner”. When Aaron Taylor-Johnson teased his changes to his character, he said that his Kraven will be “an animal lover” and “a protector of the natural world”.
