Will "Last Friday" ever be produced? What we know so far

Recently, Ice Cube and Warner Bros. Pictures have been discussing the rights of the “Friday” franchise. With the past 3 movies “Friday”, “Players Club”, and “All About the Benjamins” all starring and being written by Ice Cube himself, he believes Warner Bros. Pictures should give him what’s his.

After New Line, the original producers of the “Friday” franchise, merged with Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. has refused to give Ice Cube the rights back to the movies. With Mike de Luca—initially working for the New Line—now taking a new leadership position at Warner Bros. Pictures, this may change the fate of the movie’s production and get it back on track to being released.

Ice Cube has anticipated the making of “Last Friday”, the presumed title of the fourth movie of the franchise since the third movie’s release. Especially after the passing of many of the main characters, he wants to waste no time in releasing the next movie. And with de Luca and Michael Gruber asking Ice Cube of the next film’s release, we might be seeing a new film sometime soon.

According to a statement made by Ice Cube on the SiriusXM show “Flavor of the Week” hosted by Flavor Flav, a fourth movie is finally in the works. “We’re working on it. We finally got some traction with Warner Bros.,” Ice Cube confirms, hinting at the possible continuation of the “Friday” saga.

While some sources state that the movie will be released in 2025, it is very possible that “Last Friday” may take longer for production to begin and conclude. Wherever the release, we know that Ice Cube won’t fail to have viewers gasping for air from laughter from his films.
