Five years since portraying the renowned wolf enthusiast Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, the English actor seems to be transitioning into a similar role in the upcoming monster film, "The Beast Within".
Following is the official summary for the "otherworldly" story: "After a sequence of unusual occurrences that prompt her to doubt her family's secluded existence on a heavily guarded estate in the depths of the English wilderness, 10-year-old Willow (played by Caoilinn Springall) accompanies her parents on a clandestine nighttime journey into the core of the ancient forest. When she witnesses her father (played by Harington) undergo a horrifying change, she also becomes entangled in the sinister ancestral mystery they have been striving to hide."
Slow little changes to become a werewolf
Although not explicitly stated in the exclusive trailer, there are indications that the creature Harington turns into monthly resembles a werewolf. Clues such as his long claws, fangs, and yellowish, canine-like eyes provide some insight, but the recurring shots of the full moon seem particularly revealing. Additionally, we witness Harington's wife in the movie (portrayed by Ashleigh Cummings) fastening a strong dog collar around his neck while he is naked inside a cage (or kennel).
Regardless of whether he is a werewolf or another ancient creature of horror, Harington's character appears to enjoy wrapping himself in wolf-like fur robes to relax after his attacks. His wife is even shown kindly washing the bloodstains from it for him.
In a scene showing Harington wrapped in fur, he bears a striking resemblance to his former role as the King of the North. Interestingly, he proclaims himself as the "King of the woods" in the preview and bestows a princess title upon his daughter. As for unfortunate Willow, it seems that she is also affected by her family's mysterious "dark ancestral secret". This is evident as we witness the young girl removing her own fingernails and developing fangs, which are concerning indications.
