George Clooney and Brad Pitt are not portrayed as team players in the initial trailer for their upcoming comedic thriller, Wolfs.
Sony Pictures plans to debut Jon Watts's film in cinemas on September 20th.
Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan complete the ensemble in the film produced by Apple Studios, which focuses on two independent professional problem solvers hired for a common task.
Watts, known for his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, is the writer and director of Wolfs. George Clooney and Grant Heslov are producing for Smokehouse Pictures, while Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner are producing for Plan B Entertainment. Watts and Dianne McGunigle are also credited as producers.
As he begins his work, he confidently states, “There’s nobody who can do what I do.”
Nevertheless, he is taken aback and disheartened by the sudden appearance of a second fixer, Pitt. As they discover that the presumed dead person is alive, these two independent individuals must collaborate in an unexpectedly prolonged endeavor. Despite their shared traits, such as their manner of speech and attire, the characters portrayed by Clooney and Pitt concur that they are not allies.
In the teaser trailer that was unveiled earlier, Clooney and Pitt were seen sitting quietly in a car while the windshield wipers swayed back and forth.
Clooney lent his voice to a character in IF, which was released in theaters this month, and directed The Boys in the Boat for Amazon MGM Studios, which premiered at the end of last year. He is set to appear alongside Adam Sandler in a new Netflix film directed by Noah Baumbach.
Pitt has recently appeared in the movies Babylon, Bullet Train, and The Lost City. He made a voice cameo in IF and is scheduled to star in Joseph Kosinski's upcoming Formula 1 drama film for Apple.
Clooney and Pitt have previously acted together in Joel and Ethan Coen's 2008 film Burn After Reading. They also starred together in Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's Eleven series, with the latest installment, Ocean's Thirteen, released in theaters in 2007.
Watts gained recognition for his direction of the Marvel Spider-Man trilogy with Tom Holland and Zendaya, a collaborative project between Disney and Sony. The latest installment, Spider-Man: No Way Home, was released in 2021. Prior to this, he directed the independent films Clown (2014) and Cop Car (2015).
