Writers in Soviet Union

“Dovlatov” is the Winner of the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 2018 for his "extraordinary artistic value". One of the many advantages of this film is the bohemian reconstruction of Leningrad in the 1970s.

The film tells about six days in the life of the writer Sergei Dovlatov (Milan Maric) who, together with his poet friend Joseph Brodskij (Artur Beschastnyy), fought all his life to safeguard their talent and creativity. In a cultural context-Soviet Russia-in which only party values mattered. A context that both he and Brodskij (Nobel Prize for Literature) would soon leave behind to flee to America, where Dovlatov will die at 48 years old.
